Its approximately 1000 Nmiles,
Approximately 3 days of diesel on board at 5 knots on the diesel,

150 Genoa is operated from inside the fully enclosed cockpit, Its a Cat and dont need the main to sail it,

The Wet Berth at Yaringa, Vic, is already booked for my Cat when it gets there,

Sorry to note you are not getting many responses Mr B. I guess Westernport Bay is not attractive at this time of the year!

Its winter down there and freezing cold, Not that it bothers me as I have a fully enclosed cockpit,

Victoria is still in lock down I think, So getting out if Victoria could be a problem, ?????????
Not sure when the lock down ends either,

Not sure at present as I dont watch TV, But I do have a TV on board,

Getting operated on, On Monday morning, So I will be in Hospital for 2 or 3 days,
So, By the 11/7/2021, The day or soon after I want my boat moved,
The lock downs may be lifted, Who Knows, They change it daily,
My boat wont be there for nearly a week after that, So the borders might be open again by then,

They can always stay at my house in Melbourne till they can get out of Victoria again,

Some thing will come up,

Cheers Brian,

Port Stephens is in an Orange Zone, So travel is unrestricted,

Hi Brian,

discussed with a mate but the corona uncertainties are too big so we have to give it miss.
Hope you find a buyer in Port Stephens and wish you a speedy recovery.

Re: Captain wanted

You can fly into Newcastle Airport which is not in a shut down area,

I can pick you up at the airport and deliver you to my Boat at Soldiers point,
Which is also not in a shut down area,

You can quarantine at my home in Melbourne, Which is also not in a shut down area,
Then fly back to where ever you live,

I need my boat moved ASAP,

Thanks Brian,

Re: Captain wanted

Current as of today (14 July), Victoria has declared all of NSW a Red Zone.
Unlikely to be eased anytime soon.

First Ive heard of that one, I will look into it,

My boat returning to Melbourne will be at sea for almost a week if not more,
Depending on the weather,

It can also do it in one long leg if fully provisioned here before it leaves,
I did have it set up for 3 months at sea going across the top of Australia,

There are also plenty of places to anchor on the way down with out contact with any one, and well away from Civilisation,
While waiting for weather windows,

It can certainly avoid the hot spots of Sydney and surrounding districts which are Red Zones,

Cheers, Brian,

Re: Captain wanted

As ChrisJHC posted, the whole of New South Wales and the ACT are a red zone, the below website is one of those you need to be monitoring.

Re: Captain wanted

Thanks all for the Replys,

I have a great captain lined up for the Voyage once the lockdowns are lifted in NSW and Victoria in a week or three,

He is my Son in Law who was a competitor in the Sydney Hobart Yacht races and a Delivery Captain in his spare time, He has been up the Tasman about 30 odd times, So should know his Sh#t when it comes to sailing,
My boat sails itself, Autopilot, And putting up the Genoa when there is wind,
So we should have a good time catching up with each other, The rest of the time,

It will also give my shoulder surgery a chance to heal before we leave,
I am currently carrying my wing around in a sling,

The surgery went very well, The surgeon took it as a personal challenge to repair it, as it was so badly damaged,
He was even bragging about it to another Doctor in the Hospital,
60 mm tear and needed stitching to the bone on both ends,
Plus other things in there that were ripped up as well,

Even the Local GP got off his High Horse about the addictive drugs I was on for the Pain, Targin and Endone,

Yep, Im going to be a raving Junky being on pain killers for a month or so,
Panadol 660 G just wasnt cutting it, and 6 Panadol by 11-00 AM is borderline OD, He didnt want me taking that many Panadol as I was out of the Endone,
So he gave me the Endone with out comment, when the pain is 15 on a 1 to 10 scale, It is bloody hurting,
3 inch surgical cut in my shoulder, and the scraping of the Rotocuff and bones and stitching of the Tendons to the bones, It creates pain till it heals,
Hahahahaha
Even he was impressed looking at the pictures of the surgery done to my shoulder and the pictures of the damage done and repaired,

Cheers Brian.

Have a good trip, yes Panadol is a joke for real pain.
Ditto for wishing you a speedy recovery.
