Anyone interested in crewing on an West Coast to East Coast voyage

I am considering purchase of a Passport 40 sitting in SF Bay Area area. If this happens, I'd love to find two others to join me in a voyage back to NE US via the Panama Canal. Potential date of departure Feb, '25.
My bio includes a circumnavigation '13 through '16 as part of the Blue Planet Odyssey on a Chris White catamaran.
Anyone interested, please drop me a line to further ponder and discuss.

No sailing experience, so I'd be going just to learn from you. Of course I also wouldn't think of charging etc... My own plans involve the Panama canal so this would be a useful journey.

Re: Anyone interested in crewing on an West Coast to East Coast voyage

My partner and I might be interested if the trip ends up being scheduled. Particularly if there was an intention to carve out at least a little time for La Paz, Coiba and San Blas.

She and I have experience traveling through Central America. She speaks Spanish fluently, and my Spanish is... improving. We are both SCUBA instructors and freedivers. We are also first aid/CPR instructors. We are presently staying in Egypt, but we intend to return to the US a little after you are hypothetically planning your trip. We might be able to modify our plans.

I recently (September '24) sailed a 44' custom made cutter rig from the SF bay to San Diego with the boat owner . The two of us were the only crew with multiple nights at sea. He invited me to continue to the Sea of Cortez, which I would have done if my current plans hadn't been conflicting. I also have experience on 40-47' catamarans as well as smaller sail and power boats.

If things look like they might happen and you are still looking for crew be sure to send me a private message and we can arrange a video call to discuss it.

Cheers,

Brad

Re: Anyone interested in crewing on an West Coast to East Coast voyage

Hello,
I am very interested in joining in on this trip. I have completed ASA Sailing courses up through ASA 106, Advanced Coastal Cruising some time ago and I am currently re-taking the ASA105, Coastal Navigation through the Starpath School of Navigation to brush up on those skills. I have shared duties as skipper/crew on several bareboat charters in the Bahamas, Virgin Islands, St. Martin, St Barth, and Anguilla areas.

I have recently retired and am considering purchasing a sailboat of my own. I, therefore, have no time constraints for the time or duration for this trip. This would be an opportunity for me to expand my horizons, sailing knowledge, and experience. I will PM you any particulars you may request.

Thank you for considering me for this adventure.
Jerry
