After kicking myself for leaving
Australia without a spare belt for my
water pump, I set out in Dili to find one. After many stops at auto
parts shops that have many belts but all too long and large. The
Yanmar 3gm30 uses a M19 belt for the
pump which is the smallest type according to the attached chart.
In my wonderings one man mentioned that they use smaller belts for
washing machines. So I set out again, a little further into the city where it’s a bit more industrial. Soon after I spotted a washer and
refrigerator at a shop front and a little
parts store next to it. I saw immediately that they had belts hanging as by now I was trained well to see them amongst other items hanging or displayed. He had the belt, Mitsuboshi M19, so I bought 2 at $5 each.
