We had a similar
experience - but we carried 2 packets of cigarettes for each pilot (we had a different one on day two). We were railroaded for birbes and the first pilot insisted on helming at one point and took our 7.2 metre wide cat periously close to the stony port bank (south to north transit). I retook the
helm at that point. He also tried to get me to nudge onto the putty at the overnight stop. He was clearly unhappy with not receiving a wad of cash which he made clear he expected. We also only paid in the region of $650 in total for a 13m cat, with a
family of four on board. We did not stop as we exited the
canal - instead we headed straight for
Cyprus.
