South Africa to Malaysia

Hi all, any recommendations /suggestions on the time of year and route to take for a South Africa (Richards bay) to Indonesia on a 38’ catamaran, thinking maybe via Madagascar Seychelles Srilanka Malaysia
I realize that most yachts travel the opposite direction taking advantage of the trade winds
Ultimately I want to end up after a few years in Western Australia (Port Headland)
To sail Richards bay Cape Town, St Helena, Caribbean, Panama seems a long way to get to Indonesia /Thailand / Philippines /Solomon islands/ Vanuatu
