Sail 2 Indonesia

I must admit to being a Long-Time Lurker on this site, which I refer to frequently....finally, time to post something!
We're planning to cruise to Indonesia in 2016 with the Sail2Indonesia Rally, which departs Australia from Thursday Island.
I haven't seen much info from participants in the 2015 or 2014 event. Does anyone out there have a blog or comments after completing the cruise?
There seems to be LOTS of info on the Sail Indonesia Rally which leaves from Darwin, but not much from the Sail 2 event. Is there much crossover between events?

Any comments would be appreciated.

We are planning on sailing to Indo this year too.
Hope to leave northern Aus about June.
Just got to get the boat up north from Geelong first.

G'Day @DirkDig, is your 440 the one with green canvas at RGYC? We are also members at Geelong, and are home in Torquay for the cyclone season, while our boat has a rest at Magnetic Island.
Send us a message if you're up for a beer at RGYC, would like to talk about 440's and Indo plans.

Check out our blog 'laragh456' for details on Sail Indonesia rally.both rallies overlap in places,many boats peal off and loosely follow the rally.We joined the Rally in Tual and only a dozen boats chose the northern route.I would so recommend the northern islands.The people are so generous,friendly and pulled out all the stops to show us their culture.Mant said they were hoping to be another Bali.Get there fast before that happens!Enjoy it all.Dave
