Australia to Suez

We are wondering if there is anyone out there interested in forming a flotilla to get to the Med this year either from South East Asia or Australia. We are considering sailing Darwin to Trincomalee but are very nervous about the route to Oman and around the horn of Africa then up the red sea - we have spoken with people at DFAT and they say that the possibility of piracy is much reduced if there are a number of yachts in a group sailing in close array.
We were originally thinking of joining the ARC 2022 from Darwin but we would rather be back in Europe for winter 2022

Any constructive advice would be appreciated

Any interested participants would be very welcome - there is a lot of planning in a very short time we would like to leave Darwin by July.

most recent sailing blogs and reports coming out of this area are that it is considerably safe relatively speaking, apparently there is military presence everywhere. Just checking marinetraffic.com shows heavy daily traffic through the red sea, with no reports of piracy. I hope this trend continues and it becomes a popular sailing route on circumnavigations like it once was.

When we were prepping our Indian Ocean crossing we checked the website of the multi-national naval force that was policing the area. They had a page for cruisers but were very blunt is saying that if pirates attacked you they could do nothing to help you. At that time their exclusion zone went south from the southern tip of India and east/west from the northern tip of Madagascar. We chose the South Africa route and loved it. Having said that, it appears things are now much safer off the Horn.
