Weather Buddy

Hi,
Planning on sailing my 38' from Ensenada to Honolulu end of March. Wonder if there are any 'weather buddies' out there?? Heard once a long time ago of people who weather watch as a hobby and keep sailors updated with any adverse conditions.
Has anyone heard of this before and are there any sited along the West Coast of USA ?

There are paid weather routers, such as Commanders Weather. They will give you a pre-passage summary and update you along the way as much as you require.
