Tokara Islands

Has anyone ever been/sailed to any of the Tokara Islands?
I'd appreciate any information about any of the islands. My main intrest is possibly living full time on one of the islands.

I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt you'll find much information here, since less than 1000 people live on the 7 Tokara Islands, and Japan isn't a noted cruising destination.

I was hoping maybe with all the sailors on here, that maybe someone had been there. I know there was a big deal about the eclipse in July and one of the islands is supposed to be the best place in the world to see it.
Not a lot on the web either.
