He didn't resort to anything, and doesn't dispute accelerated warming in the northern regions. Nobody does afaik. Rather, he was comparing observed data with models. So was he panning to his audience as you first suggested by dishonestly distorting the data, or was he sticking to the science and reaching a different conclusion? Can you support your accusations with evidence or not?

Good for you. I have no doubt about your qualifications to do so. I prefer to own my own boat rather than sail on others where I can never be assured of the level of upkeep, maintenance, and seamanlike standards. I only have two standing orders, but I am strict and unflinching about both of them: (i) falling overboard is strictly forbidden; and (ii) nobody's permitted to jam up the toilets. Thus far I've only experienced strict adherence to these onboard rules, with successful and, more importantly, fun offshore passages the result.

I have never claimed expertise in climate science. I can recognize and refer to expertise and I can recognize crap.

No claim being made -- neither by me nor Spencer's study -- that there is no supporting data. It appears to be a difference in scientific opinion, between climate experts, over the accuracy of some of the modeling. That's all.

Are you able to discern the difference between risk and reality? For example, every time I cross the road I risk being run over by a bus or other vehicle yet to date have not been. Should I stop crossing roads based on the risk?

Only the expertise that shares your opinions. And then you have the CRAAP test for contrary opinions, even though they're from equally credentialed and respected experts. Expertise or not, that's hardly objective and thus scientific.

Still haven't backed up your accusation leveled against Roy Spencer, or answered a couple of pretty basic questions. I know you won't.

I did not level and accusation at Spencer. I took him at his word.

Because I promised my Canadian audience I would do this.
I have answered your loaded questions.

You criticize the CRAAP test even though you do not understand it?

I should mention that Spencer did him no favor by getting involved with the latest subterfuge by David Legates. He actually believed Legates' lie that he had authority to request and post the papers. At least Spencer had the good sense to take down the papers after being requested to do so by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
