South of Ensenada

We are heading South from Ensenada and are not really wanting to commit to the entire coast of Baja. Are there any cool anchorages within a 24 hour sail of Ensenada. We are thinking specifically San Quintin and Isla San Martin. Has anyone stopped through here or have anything to say about it? Is the anchorage in Colonet a feasibly over night on the way down? Any info would be great.

Make your way down to bahia San Quintin. It is a great anchorage. I would avoid Cabo Colonet as it is open to the south if I remember and the lee is rocky cliffs. Folks have dragged here and lost their boat. It is worth the extra time to Quintin although the whales sometimes get a little too friendly. We found great holding in sand and mud and rested two days and went up the stick to do repairs, it was calm. enjoy
