Sailing in Fiji on 10 December?

Hi,

Since my earlier post didn't get a reply, here is a follow up post, this time with a confirmed date.

If you're going out for a day's sailing from Viti Levu, Fiji on Saturday 10 December and have room for a crew please let me know. I'd be happy to pay my share of fuel and whatever other costs.

About me: 52 year old male, sailing for 20 years in yachts and dinghies, RYA Yachtmaster offshore, own a 30' monohull, based in Macau.

I'm happy to reciprocate and take you out for a sail if you come to Macau.

Thanks and cheers,
Bob

Can't help you on this one. Most of the cruising boats have already left Fiji for cyclone season.

Thanks Paul for the info!

Just curious: how bad does cyclone season get? I live in Macau where we have 5-6 months of typhoon season and yachts in our marina are usually just fine.

Winston was pretty bad this year, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyclone_Winston

Check with the Royal Suva Yacht Club to see if there's anything going on.

Also, Denaru Island marina, ask about charter sailboats. You may be able to pay your way on as an odd customer (I mean not part of a group).

Finally, Hobie fleet 252 out of Suva. I found this guy's FB page, he has links to the fleet and such. You might be able to hook a ride. I contacted them years ago and they were willing but we couldn't coordinate a time. https://www.facebook.com/FijiHobie/
