That's sort into the teeth of the prevailing winds, so probably not many if any people out there who have tried. The best I ever read about was a hard beat to windward that just barely made
Hawaii to Marquases. Even then the conditions were just right.
The best way is sail north from
Hawaii up to 35 N or 40N or thereabouts and follow the NPacific high as winds curve around toward SF or LA, then sail parallel to the coast down to
Mexico and further south. Seems like a very unlikely and very long way to
Panama.
