A new marina development in Dalian,
China is nearing completion.
Starbay Yacht Club, which opened in the autumn of 2006, already has 80 slips with a total capacity for 270.
Owned by the Chinese
government ,and built by Grand Leisure Marina Development Company of Shanghai, Starbay is one of the first of many
marinas that will be completed soon in
China.
Steve Xie, Grand Leisure president, says "Pleasure
boating is just catching on in China," he said. "This is a young market with enormous potential."
When completed, Starbay Square, the larger
commercial center of which the marina is a part, will feature 10 high-rise office buildings, a stock market, exhibition hall, museum and luxury
