Manly - RQYS - Australia

A year ago Ben and I left Curacao, planning to sail the world ... we did the first part, crossed the Pacific, 10.385 NM under Giggles' keel in 11 months, we have the most wonderful memories, the things we have seen and done, the ppl we met, you name it ... last week we arrived in Brisbane, the culture shock, cleared customs etc. at Rivergate marina, then sailed on to Brisbane Center and stayed a few days at Dockside Marina ... in the mean time we moved to Manly, to the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron marina, we're gonna stay here for the "season", until April next year ... anybody around here?? ...
greetz,

Good to have you in Oz.

Not based in Queensland but lots of members here are.

Do you have a blog of your travels?

Re: Manly - RQYS - Australia

Welcome to Queensland. You will hopefully enjoy your stay in Brisbane as there are lots of City based entertainment particularly leading up to
Xmas and New year.Start with the bicycle tracks that follow along both sides of the Brisbane river and head to Southbanks beautiful gardens and Lagoon Pool. You can also access these areas in your tender and tie up for lunch drinks swims shopping etc.
New Years Eve on the river is very special.
Great day sail across to Moreton Island Wrecks for snorkling and easy sail south to Gold Coast for protected clean water anchoring and easy access to top surf beaches and Surfers Paradise action.
Please feel free to contact me if there is anything you need boatwise or touring wise as I am a local and have sailed most areas of the Australian South Coast.Cheers Geoff.

Re: Manly - RQYS - Australia

I'm trying to find my way around Manly / Wynnum, already bought a very old 4th, 5th or 6th hand bike at Silky Oaks, a new helmet, et voila, I'm mobile ...
Sunday afternoon jazz at Keith's? ... no idea, I'll find out ...

hi Factor & Steve ...
"just down the road" ... what does that mean? ...
remember, I'm an island girl from the Caribbean, so "just down the road" means something else to me then here in Australia, right? ...
I already mentioned jazz at Keith's on Sundays ...
could be nice meeting there? ...
greetz,
