Talking Hurricane season

Hi Rdreamz,
I realize this is not what U R looking for but may be of future use to U & others. Here in the Sth/ West Pacific/ Coral Sea area the season is generally November to April & they are called Cyclones.
They occur seldom early & sometimes late; the later ones often being more intense. A useful site for this side of the world is http://www.bom.gov.au/
Regards, Glen

Thumbs up Thanks Glen

We only heard from Rdreamz once, but I certainly can use the info/site myself. I plan to be cruising between Sydney and the Philippines as well as the Microneisa's some day in the near future. We got to get away from this colder climate soon. The ole bones are starting to lockup in the winters.

Here in the US, the government site NOAA, calls the storms at sea hurricanes and on land they're called tornadoes.

http://hurricanes.noaa.gov/

Cyclones, according to the NOAA, are in the Southweast Pacific and Indian Oceans. And then we have typhoons in the Central Pacific. It's easy to confuse the three.

Here's a weather report for today in Am. Samoa Islands.

Not looking good for them there.
