Hauling out to avoid cyclone season

Making vague plans for my Pacific crossing next year, and can’t find much info on hauling out for the cyclone season. I’m not too keen on heading straight through to Australia or NZ, so what are my alternatives? I have a feeling my insurance company will have a fit when I tell them I plan on staying somewhere among the islands, but what is the point in hurrying through?
Any suggestions of places that are acceptable without going too far west would be appreciated

If you are planning on hauling out in French Polynesia be sure to make a reservation as early as possible, With so many boats staying in FP now and storage facilities limited things book up very early.

Check the insurance policy first.

Fwiw, it's easy to get back as far east as Tonga, from NZ. A little harder, but doable, to Tahiti. So, if you have to be S. of 23 d. south latitude, NZ is probably your best alternative, although somewhere in the Societies might work (is there haulout facility in Port Phaeton?"
