Question Gas cyclinder refills

We are shortly going to Indonesia/Malaysia/Singapore/Thailand etc slowly heading west. Along with 100 others we will be doing the easy access with the Darwin to Kupang rally.
My question is; does anyone know the story on LPG cyclinder refills? I thought I heard somewhere that they won't fill Aus/NZ LPG cyclinders there so you must purchase one of theirs. That will be OK if we must, but are the connections the same? How have some of you others got on, what's a cunning plan to cope with this if this is the case.

Thanks also to those that replied to my dealing with rust problem, it was a great help.

Jack Tyler wrote an informative article, that addresses the particulars of adapting the North American LPG systems to European use.
His “pigtail” system could be adapted to any local system.

In Phuket, Thailand near to the Boat Lagoon and Royal Phuket marinas there is an LPG depot which can fill just about anything.
Rebak marina on Langkawi, Malaysia can fill Aus bottles.
