Your Boat Progression - Care to Share ?

Hi Bob, We are very green, aged 71, 1st boat a month ago, 45ft ketch. Hence the name. First we moved aboard, then learned about the noises, quickly got to understand where all the through-hulls were, figured out the plumbing and getting a handle on the diesel.(Change those filters!!)
Got parking lessons from a friend. 1st sail today, 45 years later than most but loving it. We both have sore backs, ribs etc from stooping, lifting, stretching etc. Have worked in Samoa and love the Pacific. Who knows, we might go offshore.

Aw shucks Bob, thanks but we are just DumnMad. I'm the Mad one, Roe is Dum to let me do it, but wise enough to progress from terrified through fearful to almost comfortable, then all over again as something new crops up.

With all the fresh air, sunshine, and using muscles you didn't know you had, living on the lean during a passage, get prepared for reverse aging.

Sailfish Kit: Spent almost every day in the summer during highschool on this kit I built at age 12.
Columbia 26 Mark II: I sailed the Islands of Hawaii and met my future wife on a sail on the boat.
Morgan 35: A horror story but had a nice delivery fromt the Factory in Tampa to Norfolk.
Westsail 32 hull and deck: Built the boat from a bare hull, lived aboard, sailed around SoCal, to SoPac and back to Kona, HI in the '70s.
Pearson 35: Kept the boat in Alameda and commuted from Hawaii for 5 years till I sailed it Solo to Kona in '10.
