Yanmar 3YM30 Motor Mounts

I was leaning towards using aftermarket mounts and then had a mechanic tell me they would not install nothing but oem mounts.

From my research I was going to go with the R&D mounts and do it myself
Has anyone else done the job and what mounts did you use ?

I’m not familiar with R and D specifically, but some lower cost marine mounts appear to be coated/plated mild steel instead of stainless. I would want to know which it was with a preference for stainless. If you go for plated based on cost I would probably be looking at how I could grease them up to keep the salt water out. I’ll be interested to hear other people’s thoughts.

A further thought.. the reason your mechanic might not want to fit anything other than OEM is that they are usually direction, with far more torsional movement than longitudinal (you don’t want your engine jumping backwards and forwards). If they are only familiar with OEM ones they may be worried about fitting them the wrong way around and getting blamed for any subsequent issues. Maybe.
