Yacht Transport from the Med to Australia

Hi

I'm looking to ship a 40ft cat from the Med back to Australia in the Oct/Nov timeframe. Are there any companies worth considering or avoiding?

Has anyone used Direct Boat Shipping?

Are their ports of departure we should avoid?
Also what are the pitfalls in shipping yachts generally?
Typically how accurate are the dates of departure and arrival?

Hi Sly

Shipping as cargo will cost you about $60K to $70K.
There will only be certain ports that you be loaded at so you won't have a lot of choice.
I think you will find shipping dates reasonably accurate.

whilst i dont know the ins and outs of this but several members on here have there yachts on ships right now from Thailand to Turkey and most seem to use Seven star transport if you look on there web site they have a list of schedule's of there sailings etc .
