I am look for some advise regarding my steering
I have a big old Formosa
51 which I am rebuilding.... new everything.
I have had a new hydraulic steering
system installed but when at anchor
it is constantly being impacted by wave action on the rudder
.... I think.
is large and has about 15cm sticking out of the water
and with minimal wave action there is constant banging noise
from the steering
Apart from the annoying noise
I am concerned that is it constantly impacting the linkages plus the hydraulic mounts etc.
Any ideas how I can protect the steering from the impacts. My thought is to reduce the size of the rudder so it does not stick above the water
but wondered if there was a more innovative solution?
Thanks for your help fellow cruisers.
