Hi All
I am look for some advise regarding my
steering.
I have a big old
Formosa 51 which I am rebuilding.... new everything.
I have had a new
hydraulic steering system installed but when at
anchor it is constantly being impacted by wave action on the
rudder.... I think.
The
rudder is large and has about 15cm sticking out of the
water and with minimal wave action there is constant banging
noise from the
steering assembly.
Apart from the annoying
noise I am concerned that is it constantly impacting the linkages plus the hydraulic mounts etc.
Any ideas how I can protect the steering from the impacts. My thought is to reduce the size of the rudder so it does not stick above the
water but wondered if there was a more innovative solution?
Thanks for your help fellow cruisers.
