Wire Connector Recommendations

Anyone recommend wire connectors. This spring I plan to do some rewiring once its warms up.

Anyone use these SolderSeal connectors?

Re: Wire Connector Recommendations

3M discontinued their version, due to joint failures.

Re: Wire Connector Recommendations

I tried them and was not satisfied with the quality of the splice. Went back to just crimp or soldering and heat shrink with a shot of hot melt glue into the heat shrink and a reheat with a heat gun for splices I want water proofed.

Re: Wire Connector Recommendations

I also bought some. They work OK, but are a bit fiddly compared to crimps. I do like that you can see a solid connection and that it seals OK, but I don't like that you need three hands to do it quickly and neatly (two to hold wires and one to hold a lighter/torch/heat gun because you must work with both ends at the same time. I have them as spares, mostly go to crimp connectors by default.
