Will GPS crash when military sats are encrypted

Im not about to say I told you so, even though no one has wanted to listen or believe, but when the following happens, will the US military encript their satelites and make them unavailable to civilians?

What implicataions does this have for sailors?

The military sats ARE encrypted. We are only using the civilian offshot of the whole GPS.

Sure thing US govt can switch off the whole thing and, since they built it, I think it is up to them if and when they elect to do so.

BTW we will all be killed by cluster bombs by then, and we cannot navigate when we are dead. Mare sure your AP works and buy a windvane or two. Contrary to some biased sources, DO NOT buy stock food - you will not need food when you are dead.

The danger seems far-fetched to me, especially considering the total mayhem that would be created by any disruption of GPS services -- there are now even bulldozers which automatically create roadbeds using sub-millimeter accurate GPS devices.

But it certainly wouldn't hurt anything having one of the newer GPS receivers which receive the Russian GLONASS signals as well as the U.S. GPS.
