Hi, I am interested in learning to sail and being a crew member on a sailing expedition. I have very little experience with boats but I am a very hard worker and a quick learner. I currently live in Victoria, BC and was wondering if anyone could tell me what the best approach to finding some one willing to take me on as a crew member would be.
Any additional information on what it means to be on a sailing crew and how to get on a crew would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I would check out any local sailing clubs. They usually give lessons from time to time, and its a good place to meet people both experienced and those just getting started like yourself.
I agree, the best way may be to start with lessons. Try looking up an ASAschool, sign up for the courses, and start sailing. In the classes you will meet other people that are with similar ambitions and the instructors frequently have contacts and can set you in the right direction.
