What're these for?

Just got done putting the dodger on my boat after sailing without one for the 3 years I've owned her. Noticed these loops on the aft and fore of the dodger. Anybody know what they could be for?Click image for larger version

Looks like the kind of loops used when you roll up the window. Roll up the window and then a string or something like sewn on the back side is tied to the loop to keep the rolled up window in place.
