What was/is your bug out number?

My wife and I are currently part of the enslaved corporate army, but if the Silver Squeeze happens - not for long! Click image for larger version

ASAP with enough for a modest passive income. In our cases, 53 and 52. Can’t change the past but would have done it earlier if I’d picked the right wife the first time.

I was fortunate enough to bug out at 38, haven't regretted so far.

Haha yeah my epiphany was in Belearics at a locals anchorage. I noticed the guys with the much younger second wives were on the smaller boats. Biggest boat by far was owned by the guy with his first wife.

As to the questioner try this.

Simulations instead of averages when markets are like they are is a much better way to view things retirement wise. Also inflation is going to be something retirees in particular are going to have to watch soon IMHO

Having chosen to marry an Accountant I've found that a major downside appears whenever I suggest that it might be time to exchange her for a newer model; Lesley explains in quite explicit detail why I can't afford to offload her.

That’s rough. You have to look at the water all day with it yelling at you to quit??

I’d rather a basement office if I were in your shoes.

I wouldn’t even want to know it was a nice, sunny, windy day.

Re: What was/is your bug out number?

Commodore64 whatever you do don't leave it to late. A broker and I were talking about this the other day and you would be amazed how many decrepit people buy boats. I never want to rain on someones parade but you have to be fairly active to own a boat.
I have seen people fall over in cockpits, a car park once and really struggle just to board a boat. Probably the saddest thing I witnessed was a guy who had to ring his wife so he could be told his street address to write down on my form.
Cheers

Re: What was/is your bug out number?

I wondered if you meant that? If you are typing your reply on your Commodore 64 then I imagine you are so tight that you would have plenty of money saved!
Plenty of people I know have very little savings and just go anyway. I have seen all sorts of budgets. I think the adage that the more you have the more you spend is so true.
Cheers

Some folks go on $500 - $5,000

while others go on $50,000 - $500,000. (or more)
