Re: What do you hate about your boat?
A sound and valid question, I think.
In our own boat, nothing really. I could do without her endless rolling in ocean downwind conditions. Not much can be helped though as we are in a typical old style hull with only 23' of LOA or thereabouts.
There is usually something I hate in any of the big boats I work for. Most of the time it is something about too many too complicated systems that were fitted by people who do not care at all about the fact that all systems need access for maintenance.

Re: What do you hate about your boat?
rodkmffao..avsolutely nothing. th elil things that flustrate me are being modified, and broken stuff replaced. what is not to love about aformosa 41--everything is easily accessible for repair even at sea.
is roopmy enough for me n bubba
handles awesome well, i can turn her in 1 boat length if need be, and she sails easily even in biig winds. what is not to love.
answer to the question... even after 4 years out here, nothing .
i hate nothing about my boat.

Re: What do you hate about your boat?
Hey June and Bruce,
The thing that I hate about my boat is that it is sitting in a marina here in Roatan instead of exploring new visages. We did miss a few.
Might be up your way in October/November. By the way, how is your hand?

The fact that every time there is a breakdown or problem of sorts it costs a thousand dollars . uncanny how often that thousand dollars gets thrown at it.

I hate that it gets to be on the water every day while I am chained to my desk.

Re: What do you hate about your boat?
Hmm... I wonder how many of these hated items will have vanished from the owners memory when time to sell comes around?

That's why $1,000 is known as a "boat unit" lol.

Re: What do you hate about your boat?
The mast located smack dab in the middle of the V-birth. I should call it the chastity birth.

I don't think the storage is laid out well. I think maybe the bowsprit and bob stay is a failure point.

Ps; quality stuff is assembled with allen-head screws. Unlike slotted and phillips, allen-head screws never strip.

Yes, they do. And when they do they're harder to get out than a strioppe phillips or slotted. I just de-installed my windlasss so that I could take it into a machine shop so that they could take 2 months softening up the salt water corrosion and remove 4 Allen head machine screws.

I can't imagine a Allen slotted screw being harder to get out than a Phillips head or Slot. I would imagine that any rust that would prevent an Allen coming undone would have already destroyed a Phillips or a Slot.
