What are the chances? Privilege 61.5 accident

A granite pebble got in between the furler tube and the forestay on a fairly new Privilege 61.5. The owner was operating the furler and the forestay snapped. If it weren't for the fact that the genoa halyard was still attached, the 3000lb mast would've come crashing down on his beautiful boat...and possibly his irreplaceable crew. Phew!
Owner takes it to get a new one made and they're laying it out on the ground, and he notices the ground is covered with granite stones. Mmmhmm.
Note to boat owners with furling systems that surround stay cables, be careful about getting stones trapped in between the furling tube and the stay cable.
Thank God when he took it apart he noticed the stone come out or they possibly never would've known the cause. Hopefully the yard manager has been notified of this significant failure mode on this significant safety issue and they changed their procedures to prevent this from ever happening again.
