Wedges added to Rudder?

Has anyone here added wedges (usually in the form of angles) to the trailing edge of their rudder to make it more effective????

Look up "schilling rudder" and the "MacLear Thistle rudder", both of these are fish or wedge tail type rudders and have been around for awhile, there are a few examples when you go googling, never had the urge myself though...

That’s an interesting article. I wonder how well it would work on a yacht sailing? Almost makes me want to glue some wedges on the trailing edge and see what happens.

Well geoleo it looks like you are not getting responses. Even on google I cannot find any yachts with wedges on their rudder edges? I have a twin rudder yacht that is slow to respond when manoeuvring in the marina. I wonder if it would make a difference? Certainly on motor boat it seems to work.
