Glad to hear you made it!!!! I've been wondering about you guys for the past week or so, but didn't want to jinx anything by mentioning it out loud. Can't wait to hear those stories.

P.S. Sorry about your hardship- it must've been really tough running out of beer! I thought you made your own onboard?

I knew Mark would be fine. It's just plain old professional courtesy for one Pirate to let another Pirate pass through .

Seriously, congratulations on making what I'm certain was a tough leg of the trip.

Have a beer on me!!

Congrats Mark, glad you two made it safely. Were you in the convoy with Cap't Fatty?

I wondered where you guys were. Glad to hear that all is well. How was the convoy, other than slow?

Nice trip Mark! Are you going to be tourists and go inland to visit Luxor before you head on up to the Suez?

Wait a minute. You made an offshore passage in a Beneteau and it didn't fall apart at the seams?! I can't believe it! What'll all the naysayers have to talk about?

On the taxi coments. $20-$30 is generaly max fare for the ride, drivers have nothing to lose by trying to con you by asking per person when you get out. Bigger cities actually have laws to protect the tourism trade against taxi robbery. Threaten to report a crooked driver to the authority and he'll back down quickly. Me and the gang used to taxi all over and we'd fit as many as possible in one car . I'll be in Dubai for 6 mo later this year, should be fun.

Well done you guys. I am sure, that like me, the rest of CF has had you in their prayers this past week, wondering when you would be re-appearing. Enjoy the beer, enjoy the burgers!!

Great news - well done both of you. Fantastic to hear you're safe, particularly where you've been. Those beers and burgers are well deserved!

Welcome to our neck of the woods, glad you made it safely.

Have just appointed us (Sam & myself) the Cruisers forum's unofficial social representatives in Cairo!

So if you plan to come up to Cairo some time soon we would love to have you over for drinks at our house.
