WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!

After two long year's of searching marina's from the Great Lakes to the Chesapeake Bay, we have finally found our boat! A 1981 Shannon 38 Ketch. The knowledge we have gleaned from the posts on this forum, have been an invaluable source of information to us during our search. Thanks everyone on the forum.

Re: WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations - there's nothing can compare to the day you buy that boat, except for the day you sell it.

I know what you mean as well about the forum help... without this forum I can guarantee we wouldn't be living on our boat and sailing around the Indian Ocean...

Congratulations. Shannon is a nice boat.

So where did you finally find "the one"?

Re: WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,

We found her in East Greenwich, RI. David Walters yachts had her listed in Yacht World. The previous owner was very meticulous with maintenance, and we consider ourselves lucky no one got to her before we did.

Congratulations.

Don't be shy with questions going forward. There are a lot of Shannon owners out there.

Cheers.

Nice. I bought my Pearson in NY and kept her acress the bay in Bristol RI for the first year.

So are you still planning on doing the Great Lakes for the next few years? If so I guess that will be the first big trip.

Re: WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on acquiring a pretty boat.

Since she's a ketch make certain you learn how to use the mizzen staysail if you don't use one already.
