Was not able to check out of the Bahamas

I left the Bahamas really early this morning and currently in route to US. I was told to radio the dockmaster upon leaving, but nobody was available. Should I call customs or just deal with it when I check back in?
Thanks In Advance.

You don’t have to check out of the Bahamas to head back to the U.S. anymore. I think they tried it for about a year and then stopped requiring it.

If you’re talking about returning sooner than next season, I don’t know how the process works. We’ve only made annual trips. The Bahamas Land and Sea Facebook group is a very good resource.

Re: Was not able to check out of the Bahamas

Just asked a couple of my Canadian friends who 2 years ago over stayed their visa by 3 months and never checked out of the Bahamas. They just checked in 2 days ago with no trouble at all.

Pretty sure all the Bahamas govt cares is you paid your fee.

If you checked in online, or used the laptops at the office (which is online too), you can check out the same way from wherever you are.

Re: Was not able to check out of the Bahamas

I was transiting through the Bahamas last June/22.
I only wanted 4-5 days waiting for the early Cat 1 that came across Mexico and parked itself in the Bahamas.
Had to pay my $300 anyway and when I left they told me I had to clear out. So I did as I was told.
It's all about the $$$$$.
At least the Bahamas have more ethics than the BVI's!
