US Freight Forwarder - Recommendations please

We need to buy a whole range of goods in the US from a number of suppliers. We would like to have everything sent to a freight forwarder who will package and freight everything to us (in Trinidad) in one shipment.

Can you recommend a reliable and reasonable freight forwarder?

Re: US Freight Forwarder - Recommendations please

My customers down south often ask me to deliver their stuff to Amerijet here in Miami.

They have an office in Trinidad.

I would love the opportunity to quote you on your marine supply needs.

I am always shipping water makers to Tropical Shipping in Miami for clients that are using their freight forwarding services:

Ditto Rich's recommendation of Tropical Shipping. You'll have to look at their website to see if they include Trinidad in their stops.

I am in the process of using Crowley in Florida. They have a bundling service in Miami that ships out of Port of ft Lauderdale.

Liner Route Details

I would be curious to know if anyone has used them. I am shipping household goods and a vehicle to Tortola. They seem very nice, helpful and friendly.

Re: US Freight Forwarder - Recommendations please

Crowley shipped our furniture and household goods from Nevis to Florida, pre-packed in a container. Nothing was broken.

Tropical Shipping is another company I deliver to often. They also have service to Trinidad.

We live in Antigua & find Aeropost very good - easy to deal with & straightforward procedure - A lot depends on what items you are shipping - larger items may need to go on Cargo shipping rather than via air despatch.
Good luck with your projects!

What needs doing in terms of Customs, both by the Freight Forwarder before things leave the US, & when they arrive at their destination? As well as by the recieving party? I know that it'll obviously vary from country to country, & locale to locale, but I'm sure it'll help perspective customers to have some idea about this. Not to mention me.
Thanks!

That's a big reason you hire a freight forwarder rather than trying to ship it yourself because they worry about (and take care of) all of that for you and will know the rules for each Country they ship into.

Re: US Freight Forwarder - Recommendations please

Not having a US address, we use Marine Warehouse in Miami to source and consolidate goods for us and then they deliver to our Freight forwarder (as we are in Guatemala, we use Bon Bini/Transcargo) when we are ready.

Very good service

I don't know what size/volume they will ship but St.Brendans Isle in Green Cove Springs source and ship marine parts all over the world.
