Tunisia Questions
Hi I need to reset schengen so get out of schengen area.
We are in Italy so the closest country is Tunisia.
Any recomendation about Tunisia from some one who been there?
Second question is: the 100 euro visa cost is per person or for the boat?
Thanks in advance
Ypake family.

Tunisia Questions
There is no 100€ fee. I am there now and it was 3td to enter (about 2$). Btw, contrary to the common cruiser belief that Tunisia is just a way to get out of Schengen,I. Reality it is a beautiful and captivating country. It's totally unlike Europe, and is a destination port. Spend time there.
Prices are low and the culture is deep. It's awesome.

Re: Tunisia Questions
Palmico thanks, we want to visit to Tunisia but the info is no so good.
Our main concern was to spent 400 euros just to get in as a family.
Where are you? And where are the best places to visiting?
Thanks for your time.

We are also considering Tunisia as our next destination and would appreciate any recent information; current political situation, safety, Ramadan, visas, fees etc.
Thank you in advance!

Tunisia Questions
Tunisia is not having any problems...the only survivor of the Arab Spring. Elections are coming up and they have a constitution . Ramadan is an issue now (July) and many restaurants are closed, so we have to find the infidel cafés. There are many of those.

they would be better checking with their embassy as to visa entry fees for tunisia,as i belive they are from argentina or chile, who may have different visa requirements to eu,usa or other nationals.
even if it is 400 euros, for 3 months, compared to the med it will still be cheap.

Re: Tunisia Questions
Btw leaving schengen doesn't reset it. The rule is 90 days in out of 180. If you have used your 90 days you need to stay out for 90 days, not just leave the eu for a day, which is all that's required to reset the VAT Status every 18 months

one more tip, take lots of the cheap 1liter euro wine cartons before you leave italy,if you don't drink it you will gain many friends who will!
booze is a lot more expensive in tunisia, and quality poor.

Re: Tunisia Questions
Great info, thanks!
The most important question: which one is the cheapest marina in Tunisia?
We are planning to stay at least a couple of weeks..

Re: Tunisia Questions
Any help about the marinas is appreciated please?
Sidi bou said prices on portbooker is insane! Yasmine in Hammamet is also pretty expensive..
What are the alternatives? A safe place to leave the boat and see the country? Our draft is 2.2 mts.

Re: Tunisia Questions
Vega we not know prices now, but for what we found Monastir is around 200 USD a month more or less for a 12 mts boat.
But we tell you when we arrive there next month.
