True Kit Tenders - Discovery

https://truekit.net/products/true-ki...nt=32903035654

Met someone with one of these the other day and he raved about them and I must admit they do look very nice.

He also said they were very dry unlike the similar Takacat which is apparently a wet ride.

Just want to get some feedback from anyone who has one or used one

Thanks in Advance

Re: True Kit Tenders - Discovery

I had a 1st-gen Taka and it wasn’t wet, certainly less wet than the Walker Bay Lite I now have.

I dunno about the newer open transom Taka models. I loved my Taka, but it died at 3yrs. That said, that Taka was PVC, and I’d covered it -the failure was the glue to the transom. Probably fixable but we were in transit

I’m thinking seriously about this TrueKit, thanks for the link

We have a Truekit Discovery. Very happy with it. It's a high quality dinghy. Would recommend

How do you feel about coming in with a bit of surf where you can't see any unseen small rocks? Is it tough enough to resist puncture?

Re: True Kit Tenders - Discovery

No dinghy is perfect but the Truekit does have rubber skids on the tubes to help with scraping and the air floor is out of the water so it shouldn't hit anything. Also it is a very stiff boat considering it is inflatable. When it's folded we keep it in our aft cabin "garage"

All well and good but... at €1900+ for the 280 methinks I will stick with this 260 at €399 with a 5hp engine..
