We had ice on our decks in St Augustine. That is below 0 degrees Celsius and quite cold for us.

YMMV!

Scoob,

Check out the repair schedule for the Great Bridge Lock. Not sure how the repairs are affecting travels through the lock so best be sure to check. Last I saw they were to be completed around Thanksgiving.

Good call, lancelot9898 Here is what I see as latest update. I would try for the 1600 lock tomorrow since tomorrow is a good travel day. I think Gilmerton bridge is back on schedule but I do not know. I had to wait for a couple of hours there last summer, and only then got through by sneaking under with a work boat.

If you would have done the research yourself, rather than relying on a internet chat room, you may have known. On the other hand, not knowing may have been a good thing.

Relax a bit.

Never let the boat get to a place your brain hasn't already been. Always be thinking of THE NEXT TWO THINGS and the next after that.

No need to get snippy about it. This thread now has taken a turn which proves my point of the other day.

Only if you are going to transport by barge.

Relax, the journey is the adventure. Stay at Top Rack, leave early and make the early opening.

Sorry, tried to tell ya back on the 13th in post 405.

Hey man you're on vacation, right? If you're not, and you're in delivery mode, then you'll have to step it up in terms of research and planning. Cruisersnet.net is something you'll need to read each night before a new section of ICW, and maybe active captain. Especially with your draft.

The reality is, even if you really apply yourself, you're going to be "learning" the whole way down. Best you can do is avoid injury and major expense and it will be a success.

DeepFrz is right, you just have to get up and go. Tomorrow should be gravy if you can stay off the bottom. Better have a fall back plan for the weather if you can't lock through.

Re: Transit Time? NY-FL

So i was talking to some sailer friends of mine and this post came up. This must be the best post on the board. we decided some sailors here have lottery envy. its a term where some one wins something and one thinks they deserve it more. Guys he has left the dock and he is not turning around. right or wrong go don't go it really doesn't matter so now we can help when he gets to our neck of the woods or not. I sail a llot and aside from doing research i also ask locals since they sail there. so weather you think your boat is better or you have more knowledge or you do more research your still behind the computer and he is out there doing it. Why not help him out. I thought that was the whole point of this board...
