Re: The Do's & Don't s When Buying a used Nauticat 33

Silver Fern,

There's a thread called something like [sorry] "Surveying 101" here in CF. A CF Google Custom Search should find it for you. It, too, is about how to survey your own boat. It certainly could lead to productive questions of the "proper" surveyor.

Surveyors are like other professions in that some individuals do a lot better job than others. Wherever you buy, ask around to find out who is best in that area....

Good luck with it. Maybe you can find a sloop-rigged one.

Ann

Re: The Do's & Don't s When Buying a used Nauticat 33

I support finding a reliable surveyor. Ask local people (maybe also at this forum) if they know someone they can trust. Having a reliable surveyor gave me lots of confidence and peace of mind when buying my first bigger boat.

If you want a race boat that leaves all others behind, Nauticat 33 is maybe not for you. But if you want a well built, safe and comfortable boat, then Nauticat 33 / 331 (or any other motor sailor line or pilot house line Nauticat) could well be your choice.
