Looks like the nearest member of the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors is about 190 miles away.

Unfortunately looks like their specialty is

Cargo, Hull & Machinery, and Tug & Barge

Question for all members: has anyone thought about virtual surveys?

Basically, such a survey would entail careful videos of the boat inside and out in real time. The surveyor could then direct the prospective owner to use simple tools (moisture meter? multi-testers?) to inspect certain areas of the boat and things to look/listen for during a sea trial.

This service may already be out there and, if so, could be useful for prospective buyers in remote areas.

Just an idea

Cheers
