Hello fellow cruisers,
Briefly, I am new to this forum, I live in
New Zealand and have just retired. My life ambition has been to
motor cruise around the Pacific Islands off NZ.
I am keen on
buying a Sundowner 30 in the states, probably
Washington and cruising back to NZ via the Islands.
My concern is the low
fuel capacity of the Sundowner 30 (varies between 100 to 150 gals) and with a distance of 2,328 nm from
Washington to
Hawaii there's no way of reaching there.
At this point with the info that I have been able to find in the net a Sundowner 30 will
cruise at 9 knots using 1 1/2 gals of
fuel per hour?
I don't know the internal design of a Sundowner 30 whether a larger or an added
fuel tank can be installed.
Perhaps there is a member(s) who have experience with this and could advise me please?
Thank you in advance.
