Stay Afloat Leak Sealant

On another thread someone posted about Stay Afloat sealant for emergency crack etc. sealing and I had never heard of this stuff so looked it up, This stuff seems to be well worth having on board and the stuff is cheap. "Stay Afloat is a non-toxic, putty-like material that instantly plugs leaks in boat hulls and marine fittings by hand molding into any shape. It will cling to wet or submerged substrates."

Watch the video on this supplier site (you can get this stuff lots of places):

Re: Stay Afloat Leak Sealant

There was a similar product that came onto and quickly disappeared from the West Marine catalog a few years ago. It was, I think, basically wax, and didn't live up to its television advertising. The problem appeared to be that it could not successfully resist leaks with any sort of pressure behind them. I can't tell whether this is the same stuff or if this time someone has really done the job. Any chance of some disinterested testing?
