Smallest sailboat to cross Atlantic has left...
I'm very curious to see if he makes it.
In the video she does not look very stable under sail...

One cold, wet ride and I agree she looks bow heavy, ready to pitch pole. More power to him. His boat sure beats the 10 footer I read about three or four years ago.

I am curious but skeptical about this, saw his initial trial videos and didn’t see much forward progress with that hull shape and sailplan.
The boat will do fine, I am not sure how long he can sustain the pain.

Honestly, it looks like a weather buoy from a distance, wouldn’t think to look for a person in it.
I wish him luck, it’s quite an ordeal.

Re: Smallest sailboat to cross Atlantic has left...
I would have liked to see a cross section of the boat showing where he sits with the hatch closed; would have been a bit claustrophobic.

Bummer, was really wishing he would succeed even though I had my doubts (based on its hull shape and bow heavy design). I never thought it would sink, I wonder if water ingress may have happened from one of those sail control line tracks which he brought inside, or Dorade vents.
He’s going obviously devastated, but glad he’s safe.

So distraught.
He's now faced with two choices, come to his senses or continue to seek a Darwin award.

Re: Smallest sailboat to cross Atlantic has left...
the fact that he is still alive, and the "boat" sank, is clearly evidence of divine intervention.

Re: Smallest sailboat to cross Atlantic has left...
It strikes me that the leak might have been self induced as the guy probably came to his senses after the first few cramped hours so as to provide a reason to stop this crazy idea.

Or maybe it was just a way to make some money online.
Maybe there never was a plan to crossing that thing

Mixed feelings.
His ‘mission’ felt awkward to me (i.e., personally I am not convinced it proves anything worthy, even if successful), but hey — who am I to judge a man’s own dreams!
Glad at least he made it back in one piece.
Fair winds.
