sinking of 28ft sailboat

Coast Guard Saves Man After 28-foot Sailboat Sinks Off NC Coast | Cruising Compass

Was reading this article and name, boat sounded familiar so I looked here and it appears to be Triton318. Anyone have any amplifying information?

Could be anything I guess. Since he was fortunately rescued, I suspect we will be able to find out. Thanks again, USCG.

Don't you just hate it when your keel falls off?

Re: sinking of 28ft sailboat

Thankfully he is safe. I hope he comes on as I hope to find out. This is the second lost in as many years off or near Hatteras. Triton#374 was lost last year off NC.

I am thinking that the keel didnt fall off this full keel boat but I could be wrong. I know not all tritons had encapsulated ballast.

As stated, Thank you USCG
