Shower Frain Pump

Has anyone replaced a diaphragm type shower drain pump with a standard jabsco par max type of pump. Seems to me that it should work fine….and less expensive

If you're talking about changing from a Whale Gulper type diaphragm pump, those will process hair and small debris pretty well without clogging or other issues. A pump meant to only pump clean water will not and may need a strainer in line to be reliable (and that strainer will need frequent cleaning as well as getting very gross).
