I believe that Bull sharks are the species that is responsible for the most attacks.
Most attacks are in shallow water, often in low visibility.
Bull Sharks are very often found in shallow, low vis water, so maybe it’s just a matter of your more likely to encounter a Bull while wading off the beach than a Blue?

However Bull’s concern me, they just look powerful and have been aggressive to me, but I’ve not had one seriously make a run at me.
The strongman pose has been sufficient to get me to leave.

A few years ago in Panama City, they got real bad, never saw one the year before, that year we often terminated dives when Bull’s showed up.
I once rolled off the boat and turned around to have one three away away from my face, that was startling, but he left, or we think he did anyway we didn’t see him again on the dive.

My parents used to rent a condo on the beach in PC after Labor Day each year. From 9-10 floors up we could look down on the water and see sometimes dozens of sharks, often quite close to swimmers. Couldn't tell what kind and never had any attacks but it was interesting (sobering?) to see how many were around.

...and they have a habit of swimming up river into fresh water.
