Seychelles Bareboat Charter Reviews Please

I researched what I could on the Seychelles. I didn't find anything written by a charterer. We are looking at going in the fall IF possible. If not, maybe next year.

In any case, I've read that the Seychelles are beautiful, relatively safe and somewhat remote. Provisioning is expensive and somewhat limited. Anchorages are few and somewhat exposed. It rains a lot and can be a bit squally. People are supposed to be friendly.

Has anybody chartered there recently?.......if so, how was it?

We just got back last month from chartering in French Polynesia and LOVED it!

Thank you very much.

Re: Seychelles Bareboat Charter Reviews Please

Seychelles is great. Hopefully if all this Corona stuff has settled I will sail back there this December.

I was there in 2015 twice , first to survey the cat I wanted to buy and then back for a month to sail it back to Mozambique.

There are numerous islands to sail to but as you said you need to be prepared as water and supplies are not everywhere.

How long do you intend to go there for ?

Food, coldrinks and alcohol was very expensive ( depending on what your norm is. About $1 usd for a can of coke in the shops.)

Here is our trip video which shows you quite a bit.

Let me know if you need more info.

Re: Seychelles Bareboat Charter Reviews Please

My wife and I chartered there, just over ten years ago, with my brother and his girlfriend. We loved it. We picked up a boat in Victoria, Mahe and sailed to the islands due north. Then across to Praslin where we soent three days before saiiing back. It’s ocean sailing between the islands, so pick your season carefully, but good winds, beautiful places, generally friendly people and great fun. Great for fishing with a spinner; always something for the BBQ. And impressive wildlife like the giant tortoises on the islands.

Re: Seychelles Bareboat Charter Reviews Please

I'm looking to charter a cat in the Seychelles next September. Can anyone recommend a boat or a charter broker? Thanks

Thanks for the input. If you can share (here or through DM to me), I'd really appreciate understanding better what's bad about them. Is it their boats or their customer service or other?
Have you heard anything good or bad about 12 Knots charter company? I may have a lead on a boat through them.
Thanks again!
