Sevenstar FOFO Boat Transport?
I am considering using Sevenstar (float on, float off) Boat Transport to move my 40' sailboat from La Paz (BC, Mexico) to Florida East coast.
Anyone had experience with this?
Thanks!!

Re: Sevenstar FOFO Boat Transport?
Can't answer your question but based on the name of your boat, you (or a P.O.) are from a different LA than the one you're in now...

This is Fais Do Do (Part Deux). The first Fais Do Do was a 20 footer purchased in Pensacola and sailed mostly on Lake Pontchartrain and the Gulf coast.

We're at 43'LOA; we shipped on SevenStar from Phuket, Thailand to Marmaris, Turkey in March 2012, and we shipped from Genoa, Italy to St Thomas, USVI in Nov 2014....we're awaiting that freighter now. Both times we were lifted on/off by the freighter's cranes. So far, no hassle, no worry, and no issues.

Re: Sevenstar FOFO Boat Transport?
SevenStar and DYT Yacht Transport (their FOFO subsidiary) both have an excellent reputation. You might compare prices between the two. If I had a choice, I'd choose the DYT FOFO, but SevenStar is excellent even with their regular service.
There are cheaper out there. They are also less trustworthy in most cases and don't have the record SevenStar does.

Naw, we got a quote a couple months back for our 34' cat from the east coast to Europe for planning purposes. They were fine with it and gave no indication that we were too small.
