SCUBA primary hose sought

Secondary hose on a scuba set up is 150psi nominal, hose is usually rated for 250.

Hopefully the issue is solved. I have bought a hooka 10 meter length and will simply take off the existing hose for the mouthpiece (or octi) and replace the hose with the hooka. Bottle and regulator sit on the boat and I have a ten meter range at any time so that should be sufficient. I never thought of a hooka before and can also use it with my kayak for gathering scallops and even perhaps crayfish

HI - I was incorrect in my original post but couldn't find a way to edit it. My idea is to simply replace one of the two secondary hoses that lead to the mouthpieces with the hooka and leave everything on deck so I have a 10 meter low pressure mouthpiece option.

People do it all the time. I believe it even has its own name SNUBA.
A lot of us buy inexpensive oil less air compressors and make our own Hooka’s.
I do that and run the compressor off of my inverter or generator.
The surface tank is silent of course, many little compressors are horribly loud, but there are “silent” ones that don’t make any more noise than a sewing machine, I have a silent one.

Think about shorter hose, swivel connector, float for the tank so it follows you around the boat, like a Brownie. Ask a local hull cleaning guy or gal.

Exactly how we used to do it for small commercial jobs in a previous life. Always had an attendant on hand though for safety etc.

sensible idea - again I had a closed mind.

I was in the process of purchasing a Lagoon a couple of years ago which had one of those floating compressors on it with from memory four outlets. Unfortunately the sale didn't go through but that would have been fantastic

Additionally, the Balanced SCUBA regulator is dependent on the 1st stage being in the water at your depth to provide the ~120psi (increases with depth) pressure in the 2nd stage hose at the ambient pressure. This is the beauty of the design over the old double hose systems that delivered air at only one surface level pressure.
I have used a system as you describe many times to 30 feet and you will notice that it becomes a little more difficult to get a quick breath. When you inhale you have to kinda wait on the air to fill your lungs. Any exertion makes this tough.

Working shallow around the boat is no problem.
