Sailorboy1 has arrived!!!

After reading the "get out of the way" thread and hearing Sailorboy1 was headed in my direction I decided I should head urgently to Green Cove Springs to assess the damage to my boat and see if what remains of the piers at Green Cove are still standing.

To my great surprise my boat was still afloat with no discernible (new) dings or scrapes. OK, thinks I to me-self, maybe he hasn't yet arrived and I still have time to prepare but, lo and behold, there he is safely moored (thankfully on the other side of the large, concrete pier), also with no discernible damage to his boat.

So looks like Sailorboy1 has successfully made it to north Florida with minimal fuss and muss. Also, contrary to popular belief, he seems to be a fine gentleman, is at least moderately intelligent and married to a very nice wife as well.

So welcome to Florida. Sorry there was no room at the inn marina but climbing in and out of a dinghy is good practice for when you make it to the islands.

But no one has actually met you yet.

You may just be a figment of internet imagination

No I met him. In person.

At least I think it was him. Could have been some dork masquerading as a cruiser. But he did bring beer so who cares.

Keep bringing beer (whoever you are) and your secret is safe with me.

Yes I miss it about as much as I miss hitting my thumb with a hammer.

It's raining hard here and will be a couple of inches, but about 2 it is going to stop and you wouldn't be able to tell.

Btw- rain is snow where you take the white and cold out and just leave the wet part that washes the deck off

I admit it is my fault because I posted on facebook that it hot here. In my defense I was just standing trying to poke my friends in the Northeast that were crying about the snow.

Moorings at Green Cove Springs Marina. The most fun place to be for at least 1/4 mile radius.

Re: Sailorboy1 has arrived!!!

Thinking about driving by GCS Monday. If I do, I will take a stop by. I am looking for a place to rent (on the dirt) and may find something up that way, which would be convenient since I would then have a location nearer the river to sail Equinox from (and hopefully a dock). We shall see. If so, I will try to bring some sort of goodies for snax for you two! Depends upon the missus though, not sure if she wants to be living that far north of Palatka (am thinking not, but who knows?).

If it is me, we will be in a 3/4 ton crew cab Silverado (black truck) with a bunch of life jackets and other assorted boaty stuff in the back of the cab! I really need to empty out my truck... LOL
