sailing/exploring anchoring in back waters of Georgia...

has anyone done that ? it looks like some beautiful water to explore- i want a small boat to be free to get into shallow water. what are the rules for throwing an anchor down in Georgia everywhere... and just keep going. what a crazy dream considering i like showers. im a photographer so i want access to lots of variety in scenery- it would be nice to get close to some rocks.... a mountain (as well as those gorgeous salt marshes) ....but im stuck on the East Coast. just a ridiculous pondering post bear with me
